Advances in implant dentistry: Dr. Leo Malin, DDS
Early on in his career, Dr. Malin discovered that the existing implant placement techniques could not produce a standard, predictable result. Working closely with radiology and occlusion experts, Dr. Malin developed an occlusion-based implant placement technique that has significantly enhanced implant case control.
These new techniques resulted in four U.S. patents, dramatically improving clinical implant surgical and restorative results.
Dr. Malin was the first in the U.S. to offer mobile 3D imaging to doctors, along with dental implant surgical guides and case planning protocols to make the art of implant dentistry more successful and predictable. He continued his work in the field by developing a robust tapered implant system and implant distribution company to provide improved products for doctors performing dental implant treatments. The advanced implant design is more effective in preventing bacteria intrusion which can result in bone loss around the implant, a prevalent issue with many implant systems.
